Privacy Policy
Threefold Systems Pty Ltd (ABN 60 699 872 565), trading as Threefold ("we", "us"), is a Melbourne-based SEO and web design agency. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of running our business, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you submit one of our free audit forms, email us, or call us, we collect:
- Your email address.
- Your website address, if you provide it.
- Anything else you choose to include, for example your name, phone number, or details about your business.
Like most websites, our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs when you visit: things like your IP address, browser type, and the pages you viewed. We use these only in aggregate to keep the site running and secure. This site does not use advertising trackers.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It records the pages you visit, roughly where you are visiting from, and general information about your device and browser. Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses, and we do not use it to identify you or for advertising. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
You can browse this site without telling us who you are. We only need your contact details if you want us to run an audit or get back to you.
Why we collect it
We use the information you give us to:
- Run the free audit you asked for and reply to you with the results.
- Analyse the website address you provide. This is the point of the audit: we review your site's search visibility using SEO analysis tools.
- Quote for and deliver our services if you decide to go further.
- Keep a record of enquiries so we can follow up and manage our work.
- Improve this website and our service.
We may follow up with you about your audit and our services. Every marketing email we send includes a way to opt out, or you can just reply and ask us to stop, and we will.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing. We only disclose it to the service providers we use to run the business, and only so they can provide those services to us:
- Our form delivery provider, which passes your form submission to our inbox.
- Google, whose services we use for email, for the spreadsheet where we record enquiries, and for Google Analytics as described above. Fonts on this site are also served by Google, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Discord, which we use for an internal notification when a new enquiry comes in.
- Our website hosting provider, which keeps the server logs described above.
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires or permits it.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers above store data outside Australia, primarily in the United States (Google, Discord, and our form and hosting providers). We choose reputable providers with strong security practices, but by submitting a form you acknowledge your details will be handled by these services.
How we hold and protect it
Your details are held in our business email, our enquiry spreadsheet, and our providers' systems, all protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Access is limited to the people at Threefold who need it to respond to you. No system is perfectly secure, but if a data breach ever occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details as long as needed to respond and follow up. If you become a client, we keep your information for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period afterwards, including anything we must retain for tax and business record-keeping laws. You can ask us to delete your details at any time, and we will unless the law requires us to keep them.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@threefoldsystems.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email us at hello@threefoldsystems.com.au with the details. We will look into it and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Cookies
This site uses the cookies needed for it to function, plus Google Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga) that help us count visits and tell returning browsers apart. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information (for example, by adding analytics or new tools), we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page.
